Solar-Diesel Hybrid Power Generation to Stabilize Photovoltaic Power Generation
Differ facilitated the feasibility study (F/S) ‘Solar-Diesel Hybrid Power Generation to Stabilize Photovoltaic Power Generation’, a study sponsored by the Global Environment Centre Foundation (GEC) under the Japanese Ministry of Environment. The F/S team was managed by Hitachi Zosen (technology provider) and consisted of members from Solar Frontier (technology provider), Mizuho Corporate Bank (financial analysis, CO2 reduction analyst) and Differ (facilitator), in addition to Ecopower (local partner). The purpose of the study was to investigate the feasibility of Offset Credits through the introduction of a 4 MW PV/(bio) diesel engine hybrid system in Nias Island, Indonesia, and to develop MRV methodology under the Bilateral Offset Credit Mechanism (BOCM). Differ provided support for activities on-site in Indonesia, country-specific research, identification of relevant partners and stakeholders, as well as negotiations and advice along the process.
